The 2007 DIRT Collector’s Christmas ornaments are on sale now. This year the featured historic Lake City building is the Miners and Merchants bank, built 130 years ago. Price is $20.00 per ornament, includes tax, for pick-up. Additional $3.00 to ship. Third Street Market happens Saturdays, 10 am to 2 pm, from now until the end of September, you will find booths of local artisans and produce at the community gardens, corner of Third and Silver streets. Feed your brain; feed your belly.

We have informally heard from Rural Development that we received requested RBOG funding to conduct a feasibility study and other economic development activities.

Congratulations to Russ Brown for the nomination of the Governor’s Award “Downtowner of the Year,” an award intended to honor Colorado residents engaged and active in improving downtowns. The 2007 honor was awarded to the family of Tom Eldridge in Boulder.

The Town of Lake City Recreation Department needs your help! What is Halloween without a boat-load of candy? Please drop off donations of pre-wrapped bags of candy or cash donations to purchase candy for downtown Halloween festivities. (Bring donations to the Town Office or to the DIRT office).
